Remove driver side intercooler bracket which is held on by 2 12mm bolts.
This is not necessary for clearance, and it's an absolute pain to remove. Remove both vacuum hoses from the coolant reservoir. NOTE: Please make certain that the car is cool to the touch prior to doing this to ensure pressure has been discharged.
Note the writing on each vacuum hose and cut them accordingly. Reconnect the vacuum lines. Remove the 10mm bolt holding the vacuum hose bracket.
Remove the plastic hose guide and transfer it to the provided bracket. Insert provided rubber grommet into the bracket. Press the provided aluminum bushing into the bracket.
Remove the remaining 12mm bolt holding the coolant reservoir to the manifold. Insert the provided spacer between the reservoir and the manifold and tighten back down. Insert bracket between manifold and reservoir and tighten it down using the original 1 12mm bolt.
Collect the parts needed for the hot side intercooler piping: 1 3" - 2. Install a 3" - 2. Install a 2. Attach the lower cold pipe to the FMIC intercooler using a 44 clamp. Install the provided rubber grommet and aluminum bushing into the bracket on the mid cold pipe. Remove the metal bracket attached to the headlight harness to allow for more clearance.
There is a small Phillips head screw that you will need to remove. Then, there is a clip to release the bracket from the harness.
You can use a flathead screwdriver to assist in releasing the clip. Using a provided zip tie, secure the harness. We guarantee the best possible fitment which will save you precious time during install.

This is never an easy task. Instead of a silicone hose you have a plastic fitting which after many years of heat cycles, with that the plastic shrinks down and is so hard to reinstall when cold. A protip for that are using a heat source to help the plastic relax prior to reinstalling it.
It loves to move over the driver side mount causing you trouble when installing it. This is my starting position. The 90 degree hose is aimed towards the turbo outlet and the throttle body hose is laying against the throttle body. Having the 90 degree hose starting on the turbo inlet, give the intercooler a push towards help slide it on. You may need to wiggle it back and forth but it should start to go on. The bottom of it has caught on the lip of the turbo. With the 90 degree now sliding down the turbo inlet you can now stand in front of the tmic and start pulling the intercooler down on the throttle body.
The same issue is common on the throttle body hose, it may not slide over the opening and bunch up below. Use the same technique to help it slide on. They make this job so much easier and you will no longer worry about stripping out the tmic aluminum threads for the factory bolts. Now the only bolts that connect the tmic to the engine are ready to go on. Once they have started run them down snugly. Your final steps will be situating your clamps on the 90 degree hose and throttle body.
Take care when locating the clamp making sure they are raised sections, also referred to as a bead, of either throttle body or turbo outlet. These will keep the hose on by not allowing the tightened clamp to slide off. All done! Congratulations, you have successfully removed and reinstalled your intercooler.
