Hold the load bar so the staggered holes face toward the cable. Insert the wires through the load bar, one at a time, carefully observing the orientation. Slide the load bar as far down as possible. Cut off the excess wire ends with a straight cut about 0.
With the connector pins facing up, slide the load bar assembly into the connector. Insure that the wires are firmly seated to the end of the connector. The brown pair wires should be on the right side. Observe the tip of the connector to confirm that all the wires are fully inserted. The end of each wire you should be in full view. There should be enough of the cable jacket inside the connector to crimp against. Tip: Slide the load bar forward as necessary to provide the ideal placement.
Place the connector into the crimp tool, and squeeze hard so that the handle reaches its full swing. See Crimping Tools. Repeat the process on the other end using the desired wiring scheme. Be sure to slide the snagless boots snugly over the connectors when finished.

CAT6 outer jacket is thicker than CAT5e with most every vendor I've encounter - this is usually never a problem with termination, only with how many cables you can stuff through a piece of conduit, see Condit Fill Guide CAT6 individual twisted pairs insulation is usually thicker varies by vendor than CAT5.
Pull your identified cables off the 66 block labeled a in your picture as it does not support Ethernet communication. You can terminate using an RJ45 male or female; both require an additional tool to properly terminate and you might well purchase both tools.
RJ45 males use a crimper to compress the RJ 45 over the cable pairs called terminating. RJ 45 females use an impact tool with an RJ blade on the end to terminate the pairs in the cable. Important note: If you are color blind or cannot deferentiate the cable pair colors get someone else to terminate the cable for you. There is nothing more frustrating than terminating a cable wrong and it not work. They also have wire testing kits to make sure you terminated the cables correctly.
Good luck or hire a professional to get it done. I agree with everything George Pearson said, except for toning you can just hook a switch up where all the wires are joined in the basement connect all the cat5e wires to rj45 ends and plug into the switch, and connect a computer or other hard wired device to each port that you know exists 1 by 1 and the switch will light up telling you which Port on switch equals that port in that Room of your house.
That becomes a cheap toner that works perfectly. Sign up to join this community. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top. Switches are also much harder to configure wrong, and plugging a router into another router can cause headaches with port forwarding and other NAT shenanigans.
In practice, MBit requires far better termination than is shown in the pictures, and you'd be lucky to get MBit at the fastest. Show 3 more comments. Answering your questions in order to the best of my ability: Your cabling is currently connected to a telephone style punch-down block.
To summarize: You need to put Ethernet connectors on the ends of the cables in the utility box - preferably outlets or jacks in a patch panel for convenience. You may need to purchase some tools, such as a punch-down tool or crimper.
Trace the wiring before doing so so you don't accidentally disconnect your telephone service. Note: Use connectors, wall plates, and patch panels that are compatible same rating or higher with the grade of the cable used. Preserve the wire pair twists as close as possible to the point of termination. When connecting jacks and plugs, do not untwist the cable more than 0.
FYI: A half of an inch of an untwisted wire pair results in 1. Insert wires down into IDC terminal slots to position them before punching down and maintain the twist. Terminate all four pairs in the TB wiring scheme for example.
When using a punch-down tool, make sure the tool is straight before punching down on the connector. Make sure the cut-side of the tool is facing outward. Inspect the connector to verify that the wires are fully engaged in the IDC terminals and they are cut properly.
Place a dust cover on the jack for protection. The below diagram shows how an assembled jack looks. Ready to insert into a wall plate or keystone jack patch panel?
