Did anyone find a solution to this problem? I tried reinstalling, I tried messing around with permissions, I tried sacrificing virgin blood to Malkav. No luck so far. Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. Be aware that I have never experienced the issue you are describing, and am throwing a couple of ideas out there that might help. Have you tried deleting your old game saves before saving your current one? Something sounds bugged. Especially if you installed a skin, map, mod, reshade, etc during your current game.
If that is the case, you are better off starting a brand new game and see if that fixes your issue. Baraz View Profile View Posts. Greetings, Solution for me : running game as Administrator. I play the AoR version. The autosaves were not working and I could not overwrite past saves. Running as Admin works. Reason : I am on Windows 10 and the game does not have the same permissions it had under the older Windows, except if I select Run as Administrator.
Tried that, didn't help at all. What did solve the issue for me was installing Pop! OS and running the game using Proton. Solved all of my issues with VTM:R actually. I could finally save games, overwrite old ones, set x resolution, stopped experiencing crashes. I've beat it several times since and just today found that there are cheats to the game. Okay, so I'm slow. There should be a folder in the game's install directory called "SaveGames". Because the folder is within the Program Fils directory, you may need to turn off Vista's "User Account Control" in order to see or make changes to it.
Thanks for the tip. This will not uninstall save games so just go in and delete the entire folder. You know you've successfully erased the game log if you have to re-enter your keycode.
I had to reinstall twice. My method is buggy but the point is, I got the stupid thing to work. Start there and anytime you save, save in the blank slots. All in all you'll have to do this every 28 saves and remember which one is your LAST one. On the second wave of installations, I'll have to reinstall SP On the next wave, SP 29 'cause 29 will then be blank. Get it? I don't check this often, but if you have questions, I'll try to answer them.
I pop on every 24 to 48 hours. Good luck, Vista Users. Heeey Im a Vista player also. The SaveGames folder can be found in the game directory by clicking on the 'Compatibility Folders' tag near the top of your screen! So no need for any reinstallations! Just access your SaveGames folder via the 'compatibility folders' tag and clear up the saves everytime its full! But remeber which slot is your last saved game.
